Neural Networks Foundations
This is the first book for everyone interested in the subject. A well-written and well-illutrated encyclopedia of Neural projects, including all the fundamental questions at the forefront of research in Neural Networks. I believe this is the reason for it beeing widely referenced by almost all the authors in the subject.

I bought this book for some research I'm currently conducting, which deals with a wide gamut of topics, ranging from adaptive noise cancellation to fuzzy clustering to image recognition.

CAN'T BEAT THIS FOR THE PRICE
I recently purchased the Lean Pocket Guide (published by MCS Media, Inc. i.e., The Lean Store) and found it to be the most book for your money that is on the market.This book set the standard for good, informative information on Lean.The illustrations and explanations were perfect for the folks on the shop floor, as well as my supervisors.

Excellent resource when researching builders
I purchased this book as part of my research during escrow on a lot where we plan to build a vacation/retirement home.Even though we would likely not serve as general contractor the information inside is invaluable.It has helped me to understand the right questions to ask during escrow (from surveyors to septic to view to laterals) to ensure the lot, county and sub-division will allow the home we envision.The chapters on foundation, windows, doors, etc are all extremely helpful when it gets down to desiging the home.I'll know what to look out for with the interior and exterior design, drainage and when dealing with the builder.
Great book!
Covering all of the main topics, this book on homebuilding is a must have for any person intent on building his or her dream home.I keep it with me all of the time for easy referral.

Voice of experience--good advice
The best part of this book is its easygoing style. Written seemingly entirely from memory, you'll understand and remember every word. The author skips the commonly available info and writes about the crucial nuts-and-bolts problems of building a house: what do you do if you've drilled a hundred foot well and come up dry? (Keep drilling.) His advice on some details, vapor barriers for example, is OK but you'll want to check the latest thinking on the topic too. Some harmless misinformation is passed along, like that Palladio, eponym for those short-tall-short windows, "invented" them. (He may have invented residential architecture, but those windows date to antiquity. In his day they were known as serliana, after the architect Sebastiano Serlio.) The scientific explanations fall a bit short, and the chapter where he disparages Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's engineering does not show him in a good light. However he does caution you that drywallers, more than any other trade, will try to rip you off with a high materials estimate. Stuff like that you can't get anywhere else. ... Read more

Decent book, but could be better
I liked the content of the book, but I have three complaints.
Best Practical Reference
This book simply rules the subject area! If you are a practitioner looking for hands-on advice and solid methodology, this is your blueprint. It will jump-start and carry through your Supply Chain/Logistics activities. One of the best Supply Chain books I have encountered. It has a spot on my desk (as opposed to the library). Target Audiance - Choose Wisely
This book is certainly technically sound.That being said, I find the notation confusing and the text relatively inacessible.The book is likely a good selection for someone wanting to study the innermost mathematical details of modern signal processing.Unfortunately, the text spends less time on actual implimentation and usage than would be preferable for audiances focussed on real world applications.

I do not know about the contents of this book yet, but one thing I can tell is that the book is still in the first edition(unlike some review), but it's the second printing.

The best video book out there
I have several excellent books on video, and I have to say that this book is easily the best.Charles Poynton covers all of the basics in a very understandable and readable fashion.Video is a complicated topic, and one that is not well understood.There are many facets of video that are commonly confused, such as the differences, benefits and drawbacks of interlaced versus progressive scan video, or the difference between pixels and lines of resolution.Digital Video and HDTV Algorithms and Interfaces is very well written, and is a must-read for any serious video professional or hobbyist.

Not easy
I bought this book to understand basics and fundementals , it's quite organized and has a lot of info. in it , but you must have a good background to keep on reading and even you must have a lot of refrences to go back to while reading this book, at the first chapters there are instants that you need to go to chapter 16 to read then come back, I say this book is wonderfull if you have a good solid background ( mathematically and numericaly in Video standers and transforms... ). ... Fantastic resource
This was a required test for a rocket propulsion class, but it has become an invaluable resource for many classes.Purchased for at least 20% less than other outlets.

A Must-Have Textbook for every Aerospace Engineer
This is the single best book on rocket propulsion systems, covering both liquid and solid rocket engines, hybrid rocket systems, and a dedicated chapter on electric propulsion. The authors include excellent illustrations and graphs to enhance the text, and practical examples which help the reader to grasp the theory. After loaning a copy of this book for over two years from my library, i finally bought it! Definitely recommended to all engineers and scientists who want to expand into the area of rocket propulsion.

Awesome book, very easy to follow
This book is very easy to use.all the chapters are well written and very easy to follow.If you want a book that covers heat transfer that is great for a class or great for reference then this is it.

Este libro lo conoc� al cursar la licenciatura en FIMEE, ahora que lo compr� opt� por la 5a Ed que esta mejorado. Es muy util para asimilar los conceptos y entender los fen�menos. Me gusta mucho por que creo que est� muy completo y se explica muy bien. Es un libro que todos los Ing. Mec�nicos deben tener. Los ejercicios son muy variados y de amplias aplicaciones, ello permite ver la amplitud de estudio de esta �rea de la ing. Vale la pena comprarlo (les sugiero la versi�n en ingles).
The book is so good you can teach yourself
This textbook is one of the best I've ever used.Incropera and DeWitt do a great job of explaining convection, conduction, and radiation.I have heard that the mass transfer portion of the book is lacking however, I am an ME major so its not an issue.The covering of conduction is especially good, it goes into great detail math wise although its well presented so you don't have to be a mathematical wizard to follow along.The book goes into a little bit of heat exchanger design, not very much but its a good introduction.If your instructor requires this book for your heat transfer class consider yourself very fortunate. ... Don't be too scared...
As an undergraduate and graduate student, I recall whispers of fear always surrounding the mention of the classical electrodynamics course.Most people would say the subject matter itself isn't challenging per se--it's the much-dreaded Jackson book.
It is tough, but you need it!
This book has been used as a graduate level electricity&magnetism textbook for several decades almost all around the World.

This is a review of the 7th edition
This is a review of the SEVENTH edition of "Electric Circuits" by Nilsson & Riedel.Amazon generally keeps reviews of previous editions combined with later editions and that can be quite confusing.For example, many of these reviews make a complaint that the book has no answers in the back.That may have been true in their edition, but for this, simply turn to Appendix G page 939 and many answers are provided for selected problems.The authors state that all text and problems in this edition have been triple checked for accuracy.
A book that does not work
If you are new to circuits, and don't have an amazing instructor, this book will make you work for hours just to finish a few problems in the exercises. The examples in the book are ridiculous, cause they are so easy. But wait till you get to the exercises, you will know. It is true, if you can learn to do the harder problems, easier ones will be no factor. But you NEED to learn first, and this book is in no way a self- teaching book. The ability of the writers to communicate with the readers is almost non existent here.
Horrible Weeder Textbook
The homework problems were absolute hell to solve, with tons of complicated algebra. Even worse, the text gave superficial examples that gave no hints on how to approach more difficult problems. My grade suffered in this class, partially because it did not focus on the fundamental circuit analysis. Don't expect this book to help you on exams! ... Read more

I would give the damn thing 10 stars
If you are a Chem-E and don't own this book then you might as well kill yourself, or switch to mechanical.

The CD doesn't replace the hardcopy
The platinum edition is perfect - CD and hardcopy.While the CD doesn't replace the hardcopy it is very handy for it's portability and the accuracy of the 'active charts'.

This book is laid out like a text book course of study, which I like, however one important thing to note is that there is no answer key for the tests.The answer key is a seperate book and I have been unable to locate it.Fortunately I work for a General Contractor and have been able to have my co-workers check my answers for accuracy.But as far as being a good source for systematic learning, this book definitely is. ... Caution, Maestro at Work
Ray Kurzweil is utterly relentless, merciless, and authoritative as he hammers home his vision of the future.He doesn't just make this stuff up, but opens his book with about fifty graphs depicting the exponential trends in current technology.Graphs depict the increase in computer power, its reduction in cost, the nanotechnological patents applied for, the size of chips, and so on. Dr. Kurzweil doesn't so much indicate trends, as prove that they are inevitable.
Theoretical Science Masterpiece
Kurzwell's vision isn't perfect.But part of the point of this book is that no one single person will comprise the evolutionary singularity, it will take every single part of humanity to plug into our world for that to happen.He's doing a relatively noble thing, standing on the edge of reality, and sending out a jolting vision of the future that is one of a kind.There's no need to worship Kurzwell, it's simply that people ought to pay attention to this theoretical science masterpiece and heed it's alarming beautiful call to arms against pessimism and backward oriented thought.Awesome. ...
